Biography
Carel de Jager, Research Group Leader for Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLT) at the CSIR, is at the forefront of blockchain innovation in South Africa. Leading DLT R&D in the Emerging Digital Technologies for 4IR unit, Carel's work focuses on building solutions that combat illicit financial transactions. With years of experience, Carel is a recognized thought leader in the blockchain space, having worked with numerous regulatory bodies, financial institutions, and corporates. At the Hamburg Sustainability Conference 2024, Carel will speak on the transformative potential of blockchain in green finance.
