Davaasuren Sodnomdarjaa

Biography

Davaasuren Sodnomdarjaa is the Deputy Minister of Economy and Development of Mongolia, bringing nearly three decades of expertise spanning public policy, financial regulation, and academic research. Before her ministerial appointment, Dr. Davaasuren served as a Senior Analyst for the National Security Council of Mongolia (2021–2023) and chaired the Financial Regulatory Commission of Mongolia (2016–2019). Her extensive background in financial development includes leading the Microfinance Development Fund at the Bank of Mongolia, serving as General Coordinator for the "Sustainable Livelihoods" project. Alongside her public service, Dr. Davaasuren has had a distinguished career in academia. She spent over two decades at the National University of Mongolia as a Senior Lecturer and Economics Department Chair. She holds an MA and a PhD in Economics.
