Gunn Jorid Roset

Biography

Ms. Gunn Jorid Roset has been Director General of The Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) since August 2025. Before this, she worked for the Norwegian Foreign Service since 1998. She has had postings in Latvia and South Africa and served as Norway’s ambassador to Malaysia from 2017 to 2021. She has also held several management positions at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Humanitarian Director and Deputy Director General in the Multilateral department. Ms. Roset graduated from the Ministry of foreign Affairs’ Diplomatic course in 2003 and has studied political science, development studies and German language and literature in Trondheim and Oslo. She lives in Oslo and is married with 3 children.
