Hans Peter Lankes

Biography

Hans Peter Lankes is Managing Director and Deputy CEO of ODI Global, a Visiting Professor in Practice at the London School of Economics (Grantham Research Institute), a Senior Fellow at the LSE/Oxford International Growth Centre, and a member of the Africa Expert Panel set up by the South African G20 Presidency. Hans Peter served on the G20 panel on MDB capital adequacy and the G20 Independent Expert Group on MDB Reform. He is also a member of the investment committee of ILX, an impact fund. His research focuses on climate and development finance, MDB reform and sustainable growth. Until 2021, Hans Peter was Vice President of Economics and Private Sector Development at IFC/World Bank, having previously served in various management roles at the EBRD and the IMF. Hans Peter obtained his PhD from Harvard University, as well as degrees from Harvard Kennedy School, Freiburg University, and Université de Grenoble.
