Helen Nonhoff

Biography

Helen Nonhoff is the Co-Founder and COO of Propel, a collective intelligence platform helping development and humanitarian organisations turn fragmented experience and evidence into shared knowledge for better decision-making. Her work focuses on strengthening organisational learning, collaboration, and knowledge flows, ensuring that valuable lessons are captured, connected, and applied across teams, projects, and countries. Before joining Propel, Helen spent more than a decade working across the humanitarian and development sectors in Europe and Latin America. She has held leadership roles in programme management, organisational development, fundraising, monitoring and evaluation, and strategic planning, supporting organisations working on migration, education, and community development. Throughout her career, she has helped teams build practical systems and processes that strengthen collaboration, learning, and adaptive decision-making. Drawing on both field and management experience, Helen is particularly interested in how organisations can move beyond fragmented information and create more inclusive and sustainable approaches to learning. Her work explores how collective intelligence and responsible technology can help organisations build on existing knowledge, strengthen cooperation, and improve outcomes in complex development and humanitarian contexts.
