Ingo Ritz

Biography

Ingo Ritz is the Director of the Global Call to Action Against Poverty (GCAP) since 2013. He coordinates the work for global justice to erradicate poverty and to end inequalities – with focus on social protection, tax and debt justice. As part of his role he coordinates the Global People’s Assembly and global campaigns, does advocacy with the UN and supports national coalitions in their work on the Sustainable Development Agenda and the inclusion of socially excluded groups. A trade economist from Germany, he has been a part of GCAP through GCAP Germany since 2004, and he worked as the Executive Director of the German Civil Society organization NETZ Partnership for Development Justice from 2001 to 2013. Since 2020 he is board member of NETZ. This includes work with community based organisations for a rights based approach, for the right to food, education and women’s rights.
