Biography
Baroness Chapman was appointed Minister of State for International Development and Africa in the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office in September 2025. Baroness Chapman has held previous senior roles in the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. On 28 February 2025 she was appointed Minister of State (International Development, Latin America and Caribbean). Previously, she was a Member of Parliament from 2010 to 2019. The Minister is responsible for Africa, migration, development and humanitarian, international finance, climate and energy security and violence against women and girls. In her role as Minister for International Development, she is also the UK’s Governor to the World Bank and several Regional Development Banks.
