Biography
Joseph Nguthiru, the UN Young Champion of the earth, is a Kenyan engineer and social entrepreneur renowned for his contributions to sustainable technology and circular economy. He is the founder of HyaPak, a startup transforming the invasive water hyacinth into biodegradable plastic alternatives. He’s also a co-founder of M-Situ, a startup using AI as an early warning system to detect deforestation, wildfires and charcoal burning. Furthermore, he’s involved with AfroClimate, which empowers African entrepreneurs working in climate-related fields. Nguthiru is also an Obama Leader and part of the 40 under 40 Africa.
