Biography
Katja Roemer is Head of Communications and Outreach at the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) in Hamburg, Germany. She leads the Institute’s strategic communication and partnership-building efforts, promoting lifelong learning as a driver of inclusive and sustainable development worldwide. She brings extensive experience in international communications and public affairs. Prior to joining UIL, she served as Spokesperson of the German Commission for UNESCO and as Head of Education and Communication, where she led strategic outreach and supported national and international policy dialogue. Earlier in her career, she worked at UNESCO Headquarters in the Communication and Information Sector, contributing to the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
