Biography
Mr. Kim Eling is the Senior Director for Strategy and External Engagement at the International Organization for Migration (IOM), based in Geneva. He joined IOM in December 2024 following over two decades at the European Commission, where he served as Chief of Staff to the European Commissioner for Crisis Management. He also held leadership roles in policy coordination, multilateral and legal affairs within the EU’s humanitarian aid and crisis response department (ECHO), and was posted to the EU Delegation to the United Nations in Geneva, focusing on humanitarian, refugee and migration issues. Mr. Eling holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford, and a Master’s degree and PhD in political science from the London School of Economics.
