Biography

Kuanysh Uzbekov is a Kazakhstani public policy expert and youth advocate specializing in water governance and human rights. As of early 2026, he holds several senior leadership roles advancing global youth engagement and sustainable development. Since December 2025, he has served as Director of Outreach and Engagement at the Migration Youth & Children Platform (MYCP), where he leads international outreach strategies and builds partnerships with UN entities and other global stakeholders. He is also President of the Kazakhstani Youth Parliament for Water (KAZYPW), a role he has held since October 2024, spearheading youth driven water governance programs and advocating for stronger representation of youth from the Global South in international water policy. In Geneva, Uzbekov contributes to the UN Human Rights Innovation and Analytics Hub, supporting data driven initiatives for human rights reporting and digital transformation, and he is a 2025 to 2026 fellow of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Young Peacebuilders initiative. He holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Tsukuba in Japan and a degree in International Law from Maqsut Narikbayev University. He has publicly shared a long term ambition to become President of Kazakhstan by 2043, with the goal of driving positive change for his country.
