Nitya Sunil

Biography

Nitya Sunil is the Director of Legal, ESG & Policy at West Africa Blue, where she leads a portfolio of nature-based solutions projects in West and Central Africa. Her team's key focus areas is developing fit-for-purpose benefit-sharing mechanisms for high-integrity carbon projects. Her expertise includes carbon rights, land tenure, and cross-border transactional and compliance matters across common law jurisdictions. She also has extensive experience in M&A, private equity, and venture capital transactions in emerging markets and international development. She is a member of the New York Bar and the Bar Council of India with a master's in law from Columbia University, New York.
