Stine Renate Håheim

Biography

Ms. Håheim (b. 1984) holds a master’s degree in educational studies, history, and political science from the University of Oslo. She served the Norwegian Labour Party as an elected member of Parliament for two terms, from 2009 to 2017. In Parliament, she was a member of the Justiciary Committee, the Election Committee, the Committee for Education and Science, and the Regional Development Committee. Before her time in Parliament, she held various positions in the Workers’ Youth League (AUF) and the regional council of her home county, Oppland. She is a survivor of the 2011 terrorist attack at Utøya. Ms. Håheim is a teacher and worked for several years at Sinsen High School in Oslo before joining the government as Deputy Minister in February 2025. As Deputy Minister of International Development, she is responsible for international development efforts in countries outside the OSCE, the Middle East, and Afghanistan. She is also responsible for Norwegian humanitarian efforts and development cooperation under the auspices of the UN system, the World Bank, the regional development banks, and other global funds and programmes.
