Biography
Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu Negewo (Ph.D) is the Executive Secretary of the Inter- Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD) having assumed office in November 2019. Prior to taking up his post as the IGAD Executive Secretary, Dr. Workneh, served as Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia between 2016 and 2019. He also held office as Minister of Transport and Communications between 2012 and 2016.
