Biography

Boris Boettcher is a Principal Sector Economist in the Competence Centre for the worldwide portfolio in urban mobility of KfW International Finance. Prior to his, he was senior expert for transport investment projects in North Africa and Western Balkans for KfW. He has multiple years of experience at the European Commission supporting the implementation of Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) and Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) before he became Senior Consultant for European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS). Boris Boettcher was involved in multiple corridor management and infrastructure investment projects in Africa, one of which was supporting the definition of the new criteria of the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA PAP II) for the African Union Commission (AUC). As a trained engineer in transport sciences, he started his career with the design and implementation of rail projects and data communication networks. Later he proceeded with executive Master programmes in Political Sciences and International Relations at the University of Hamburg and Science Po.
