Ms. Cecilia Njoki Njenga, an economist/urban and regional planner, currently serving as the Director, Intergovernmental Support and Collective Progress at the UNFCCC supporting 198 Parties to the Convention and Paris Agreement, their Governing and Subsidiary bodies negotiate and assess collective progress in the implementation of multilateral climate change negotiations, reach consensus, and implement climate change action. Prior to her current role at UNFCCC, Cecilia served at United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and UN-Habitat. At UNEP, she was the Head of UNEP’s sub-regional office in Pretoria supporting thirteen countries and leading UN Country Teams to strengthen Science-Policy Interface, prepare Common Country Analysis, utilize evidence-based decision making. At UN-Habitat, supported city-labs to prepare high-impact transformational environmental projects and programmes for over one hundred cities in developing countries.
