Dinamam Tuxá

Biography

Dinamam Tuxá is an indigenous leader of the Tuxá people, from the Tuxá Indigenous Land located between the Brazilian states of Bahia, Pernambuco and Minas Gerais. A lawyer with a master's degree in Sustainability with Traditional Peoples and Territories from the University of Brasilia (UnB), Dinamam is one of the main voices in defense of indigenous rights in Brazil. He acts as Executive Coordinator of the Articulation of Indigenous Peoples of Brazil (APIB) and as co-chair of the Global Alliance of Territorial Communities, a coalition that brings together indigenous leaders and local communities to protect forests and tackle climate change. Throughout his career, he has dedicated himself to fighting for the demarcation of indigenous territories, environmental protection and the political strengthening of grassroots indigenous organizations
