Biography

Gustav represents EKOenergy, the non-profit international ecolabel for renewable energy. In his role, he supports organisations and companies in their transition to sustainable renewable energy and helps integrate these solutions into corporate sustainability strategies and reporting frameworks. EKOenergy distinguishes itself by applying additional environmental criteria that ensure energy production respects ecosystems, including requirements related to biodiversity and nature protection. Beyond energy sourcing, the ecolabel also channels funding into renewable energy projects in energy-poor regions — such as solar for schools, clinics, and water systems — thus creating measurable, positive impacts that contribute to several Sustainable Development Goals. EKOenergy’s Climate Fund has supported over 120 projects during the last decade, delivering renewable energy solutions where they are needed most. EKOenergy collaborates closely with companies, NGOs, energy suppliers, and policymakers to strengthen partnerships and expand the global reach of sustainable energy solutions. Through these efforts, EKOenergy contributes to accelerating the energy transition and advancing inclusive, community-level progress toward climate and development goals.
