Nicera Wanjiru

Biography

Nicera Wanjiru is a resident of Kibera Informal settlement in Nairobi Kenya, she is a National Federation Leader Muungano wa Wanavijiji, a community trainer and mobilizer with more than 10 years of experience leading qualitative and quantitative mapping at SDI Kenya (Muungano Wa Wanavijiji) at the Local level, that is the informal settlement. She is a Reseau Associate, a network of women in Geo-Spatial from Global South and Global North. She is a trained journalist who has been using her skills to document stories about Climate Change, Climate Action and Locally Led Adaptation in her community and beyond, She is a Convenor and producer at Community Climate Café’s Initiative. Her core objective has been advocating for community voices (especially women) to be heard and be a priority in the Climate Change Conversation, both locally and globally through data journalism.
