Biography

Poon Thiengburnathum is the Vice President for Program Management Unit for Area-based Development (PMU-A) Agency of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation in granting research funds to enhance livable cities and decentralization of prosperous centers. by using science research and innovation. The goal is to develop a central city in the region to support the improvement of the quality of life of urban people and connect prosperity to the countryside, and the director of Excellence Center for Urban Study and Public Policy, Chiang Mai University (ECUP). He is also responsible for Food and Environment Strategic Foresight for Thailand with Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI). This involves an in-depth analysis of Inequality and allocate national budget to provide appropriate research funding to support in Thailand. His expertise lies in the field of complex system analysis for planning and policy recommendations. The complex system analysis has been adopted for use in various filed research in regional development, environmental changes such as haze, supply chain and logistic, urban planning, and urban mobility.
