Biography

Minister of State Sarah Ryglewski is responsible within the Federal Chancellery for cooperation between the Federal Government and the Länder. She has also been given responsibility by the Federal Cabinet for sustainable development and chairs the State Secretaries Committee on Sustainable Development. Sarah Ryglewski was previously Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister of Finance (2019-2021). She has been a Member of the German Bundestag since 2015 where, among other things, she has been a member of the Finance Committee and the Committee on Legal Affairs and Consumer Protection, as well as spokesperson on consumer policy of the SPD parliamentary group. She was a member of the Bremische Bürgerschaft (Land parliament of Bremen) from 2011 to 2015. Sarah Ryglewski has been an active member of the SPD since 2001. She was initially chair of the Young Socialists in Bremen, then deputy chair of the SPD in Bremen and has been a member of the national SPD Executive Committee since 2017. She studied politics and after gaining her degree she worked as a neighbourhood manager in Bremen.
