DE | Unser derzeitiges Ernährungssystem verursacht erhebliche Probleme für unsere Gesundheit, Gesellschaft und den Planeten. Obwohl die Notwendigkeit einer Transformation des Ernährungssystems erstmals in der Erklärung der COP26 erwähnt wird, gilt es nun, die Absichten zu verstärken und umzusetzen. Wie können ambitioniertere Verhandlungen über Klima und Biodiversität helfen, das Ernährungssystem zu verbessern? Führende Forscher stellen Lösungsvorschläge vor und diskutieren mit politischen Entscheidungsträgern.

EN | Our current food system is flawed and creates substantial problems for human health, societies, and our planet. While the importance of the food system transformation for people and planet has been mentioned in the COP26 declaration, it is now time to step up intentions and implement them. How can we raise the ambitions in climate and biodiversity negotiations to make the food system better for people and planet? This event will feature solution proposals by leading researchers and discuss them with policy-makers.

Hosted by THE NEW INSTITUTE in collaboration with the HSC, the panel will present and discuss concrete ideas from the scientific community on Resilient Food Systems for discussion with a high-level panel of experts.

Deutschland sucht daher nach Bündnissen in Afrika, Lateinamerika und Asien. Über Ziele und Erfolge dieser Strategie diskutieren der SPD-Politiker Niels Annen und die Analystin Amaka Anku.

Ob mehr Gerechtigkeit, bezahlbare und saubere Energie oder Kampf gegen den Hunger: Die 17 Nachhaltigkeitsziele, auf die sich die Weltgemeinschaft 2015 geeinigt hat, sind noch lange nicht erreicht. Als führendes Industrieland betont Deutschland seine besondere Verantwortung bei der Erfüllung dieser Ziele. Und seit dem russischen Angriffskrieg auf die Ukraine versucht die Bundesregierung ein strategisches Bündnis zu den Staaten des Globalen Südens aufzubauen. Wie gelingt es Deutschland, die Erfüllung der Nachhaltigkeitsziele mit anderen Mittelmächten in Afrika, Lateinamerika und Asien weiter voranzutreiben? Wie können Entwicklungs- und Schwellenländer besser in die Weltwirtschaft integriert werden und welche Rolle spielt dabei Deutschland?  

Zum Abschluss der ersten Hamburg Sustainability Conference diskutieren wir diese Fragen mit Niels Annen, Staatssekretär im Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung, und der Leiterin des Afrika-Portfolios der Eurasia Group Amaka Anku. Es moderiert Julia Ganter, Körber-Stiftung.

EN | Although the global community has long known that it must solve crises together, there is a risk that the Sustainable Development Goals will not be achieved. Germany is therefore seeking partnerships in Africa, Latin America and Asia. Politician Niels Annen and analyst Amaka Anku discuss the goals and successes of this strategy.

Whether it’s more justice, affordable and clean energy or the fight against hunger: the 17 sustainability goals that the global community agreed on in 2015 are still a long way from being achieved. As a leading industrial country, Germany is stressing its special responsibility in achieving these goals. And since Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, the German government has been trying to build a strategic alliance with the states of the Global South. How is Germany managing to further advance the fulfillment of the sustainability goals with other middle powers in Africa, Latin America and Asia? How can developing and emerging countries be better integrated into the global economy and what role does Germany play in this?

At the end of the first Hamburg Sustainability Conference, we will discuss these questions with Niels Annen, State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and Amaka Anku, Head of the Africa Portfolio at the Eurasia Group. The event will be moderated by Julia Ganter, Körber Foundation.

Wir freuen uns auf spannende Abende zu The Week mit euch im Impact Hub Hamburg.

The WEEK ist eine Bewegung zur Förderung der ökologischen Transformation durch einen tiefgreifenden Bewusstseinswandel. Initiiert von Frederic Laloux und seiner Frau Hélène Gérin, dreht sich das Projekt um die Folgen des Klimawandels. Drei Filme zu Zukunftsszenarien, Zusammenhängen und Handlungsoptionen laden zum Austausch und Handeln ein. Didaktisch orientiert sich „The WEEK“ an der Theorie U von Otto Scharmer.

Wir treffen uns eine Woche lang an drei Abenden „live“ im Impact Hub, um jeweils einen Film anzusehen und darüber zu diskutieren. Für Deine Terminplanung ist wichtig zu wissen, dass Du bei diesen drei Terminen dabei sein solltest - sonst fehlt Dir ein wichtiger Schritt im Prozess.

„The WEEK“ bietet allen eine positive Möglichkeit, sich aktiv mit dem Klimawandel auseinanderzusetzen und zeigt die Auswirkungen der Erderwärmung auf.

Trotz der erkennbaren Bedrohungen sind viele oft gelähmt oder gleichgültig. Das ändert sich durch „The WEEK“.

EN | The Week – Shaping a Sustainable Future

We are excited to invite you to engaging evenings at The Week in the Impact Hub Hamburg.

The WEEK is a movement aimed at promoting ecological transformation through a profound shift in consciousness. Initiated by Frederic Laloux and his wife Hélène Gérin, the project focuses on the consequences of climate change. Three films about future scenarios, interconnections, and options for action invite you to exchange ideas and take action. The WEEK is didactically inspired by Otto Scharmer's Theory U.

We will meet live at the Impact Hub over the course of a week on three evenings, each dedicated to watching one of the films and discussing it. For your planning, it's important to note that you should attend all three sessions—missing one could leave you without a crucial step in the process.

The WEEK offers everyone a positive opportunity to actively engage with climate change and highlights the impacts of global warming.

Despite the obvious threats, many people feel paralyzed or indifferent. The WEEK changes that.

Together, we strengthen our commitment to sustainable action.
