Play Your Way to Circular Innovation

This interactive workshop invites participants to rethink climate and resource challenges through nature-inspired and circular design. The goal is to encourage creative problem-solving, systems thinking, and collaboration to develop practical and scalable ideas for more sustainable products and processes. Participants identify and vote on key challenges such as resource depletion, linear systems, or greenwashing. In teams, they explore these topics using principles from nature like circularity, efficiency, and adaptability.

The ideas are then shaped into simple prototypes and short pitches. The workshop is designed for a broad audience, including students, creatives, and professionals from business, technology, and sustainability. The outcomes of the workshop are interconnected and reinforcing of one another, helping to address SDGs 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), 13 (Climate Action), and 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure). For Hamburg Sustainability Week, the format is valuable because it moves from discussion to action. It creates an open, playful space where participants can collaborate, think differently, and leave with fresh ideas for climate-positive innovation.
